What are some decent places in Baltimore to visit around the Inner Harbor? |
Travel Info preferably not museums. Apart from the national aquarium, I would like to visit places where there are some involving and activity-oriented attractions, instead of just standing and staring at exhibits. Also I would like some suggestions on some decent places to eat in Baltimore (Inner Harbor), moderately priced of course and not high-end. Travel Tips The Science Center has tons of interactive exhibits, an IMAX theatre, and a Planetarium. Nearby is the B&O Railroad Museum and Fort McHenry, which are not typical museum-like attractions. A good place to eat that isn't too expensive is the Rusty Scupper, right on the water near the Science Center. Others It's been a long time since I've been there, but I've heard that the Maryland Science Center is a really good time. If you really want to eat in the Inner Harbor, I really like the Hard Rock Cafe. The food is affordable, but you might have a bit of a wait to get a table. I recommend Fells Point. It's a close walk to the inner harbor with fun places to shop, historic buildings (some haunted!) and the wide variety of places to eat affordably. my friend helps write the Baltimore blog for hotelsbycity.net yes it is a hotel site, but in the blog there are different categories including restaurants and things to do in the city, written by those who live there. http://www.hotelsbycity.net/blog/usa_mar... http://www.hotelsbycity.net/blog/usa_mar... the sea aquarium children's place for kids and the shoppes. there are alot of mus ems but they are not Worth it The most fun in the Harbor is taking the water taxis to the different neighborhoods and strolling through them. There are so many restaurants to choose from and quaint shops to check out. If the tall ship is in, they offer a 2 hr. cruise for a fairly reasonable price. The Maryland Science Center is all inter-active and also has an IMAX theatre. And if you are so inclined you can rent a peddle boat and peddle about the Harbor. The Ducks are a fun way to tour the city....they run on land and into the water. Go to the top of the Trade Center and get a 360 degree view of the city and beyond. Mostly all that Bmore Inner Harbor has to offer is museums or shopping. Go to Little Italy to find some interesting restaurants or if your Uptown try Paper Moon, that is my fav!Sometimes exploring can be fun. Federal Hill is nice and there are a lot of little interesting shops in Fells Point. You may be able to see a baseball game at Camden Yards. |
