What trains other than the Amtrak run from Penn Station to Union Station? |
Travel Info Additionally, where does Greyhound drop off in Washington and how far is that from the Union Station by taxi or something. Travel Tips I don't personally take the train to and from DC, but according to the "transportation" section on Union Station's website, below are the following that are available there (it seems amtrak is the only one that runs outside of the local area): Amtrak Ticket Reservations 1-800-USA-RAIL Street Level Information on Amtrak trains and travel. amtrak.com Gray Line Tours (202) 289-1995 Mezzanine Level - Parking Lot Level Sightseeing tours of Washington, DC via trolley and segways and day trip tours of other historic areas. graylinedc.com MARC Train (800) 325-7245 Street Level Maryland Rail Commuter Service - Commuter rail servicing Maryland, Washington, DC and West Virginia. mtamaryland.com Old Town Trolley Tours (202) 682-0079 Street Level - Main Hall A Washington, DC tour at your own pace - get on and off the trolley at any of the convenient stops (close to all attractions). historictours.com Tourmobile (202) 554-5100 Street Level - Main Hall Daily narrated shuttle tours of Washington, DC monuments and memorials. tourmobile.com Virginia Railway Express (VRE) 1-800-RIDE-VRE Street Level Virginia Railway Express - Commuter rail servicing Washington DC and Northern Virginia. vre.org as for the greyhound, the station @ 1005 1ST ST NE is within walking distance from Union station. When I have used it, I took the metro to Union Station and then walked up to the bus station. According to the metro site it is about a .44 mile walk. Penn Station, NYC or Penn Station Baltimore? Coming from NYC the only passenger rail option is Amtrak. If you're coming from Baltimore you can take the MARC train, which is basically Amtrak for commuters. It's considerably cheaper than Amtrak, but a bit slower and only runs on the weekdays. The Greyhound Station in DC is just a few blocks away from Union Station, however the area is just a bit sketchy after dark. If you're arriving at noon it won't be a big deal, but if you're coming in at 11 pm I wouldn't walk. Because the DC cabs run on a zone system, it would be a $6.50 cab ride even though it is only 3 blocks. You might as well just take the cab to your final destination. http://www.mtamaryland.com/ http://www.greyhound.com/scripts/ticketc... http://citizenatlas.dc.gov/atlasapps/tax... |
