What is a Saskatoon bush?

Travel Tips
Saskatoons are native to the Canadian prairies.

Others
A shrub (Amelanchier alnifolia) of northwest North America, having white flowers and edible dark purple fruit.

The fruit of this plant.
Saskatoon bush: produces a fruit that is good in pies, jelly and jam or just plain - it is the size of a blueberry but more reddish in color
Saskatoons look more like trees. A thin willow-ey tree that can grow several feet high. I've seen them commonly in the wild about 12 ft. high.

They produce a dark purple berry that is super yummy to eat. The berry looks & has the texture of a blue berry but the taste it different.

These trees grow wild throughout Manitoba and the berries can be used to make all the same things blue berries can. Jam, pie, syrup yum yum yum in a bowl with some sugar and cream...on cereal...

Mmmmm...saskatoon season I think is at the end of July. I can't wait.
Born & raised Manitoban
don't know but i think it might mean a cute girl from Saskatoon am i right
