Has anyone been to Zacatecas, Zacatecas?is it a nice town? What is there to do? |
Travel Info My parents are actually from Zacatecas, but ive never been there. Is it worth visiting? Travel Tips I live in Mexico [Cancun], and went to visit Zacatecas a few years ago. I can tell you this is one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico. Its buildings are all made of stone, for it was one of the richest cities in America. If you like architecture, specially from the 19th century and before, you'll love it. It also has a bunch of very nice museums: The Rafael Coronel and the Pedro Coronel, the Museo del Sitio, etc. Around the city you can visit some old convents now hosting museums, arts, theater and lots of spectacular cultural shows. You can also visit Mexican vineyards, a few miles northern Zacatecas and of course, you'll get the cheaper handmade silver jewelry ever! Do not forget to visit the bars, pubs and discos. Some of them are now inside old mine roads and caves. Hope it helps. |
