What is it like to live in Zurich?

Travel Info
We like culture (classical music, indie music, opera, theatre), eating out, skiing, hillwalking, sports, beautiful architecture, playing in musical groups. Is Zurich going to be suited to us?
Also, is it possible to commute to Wettingen?
Thankyou

Travel Tips
You'll love it if you're making enough money.
Zurich is great to live in, not necessarily worth a visit.
There are four trains an hour between Zurich and Wettingen during rush hour (actually probably 6 but 2 aren't worth it), they take 17, 20 or 26 minutes. Rest of the day, 3 trains an hour that take 26 or 32 minutes. Source(s): http://www.zvv.ch
I live between Zurich and Wettingen, but on the line that isn't worth it during rush hour

Other Travel Tips
You will like Zurich but it's a small town. You can't spend more than a couple of days there without getting bored. I'd recommend Munich instead. Munich is unforgettable!
I'm sure you be fine in Z眉rich since it offers a lot. Besides you can easely reach other beautyful parts of Switzerland by train or even visit the border towns of France,Germany or Italy in a day like eg Milan!
Zurich is expensive, My wife and I cooked pasta(from the market) and I bought a beer and it was over 20 us dollars. It is worth visiting though. I found the people to be quite nice and there are giant swans there that are so big that they are a little scary if they hiss.
Its interesting that Switzerland is still on Swiss francs instead of Euros. If I remember correctly they will accept Euro bills(at an exchange rate to their advantage) but not Euro coins.
Yes, you will find quite a bit of culture in Zurich, but you will have to pay for it. Everything is very expensive in Zurich. Transportation will not be a problem. I think the answer to your question really depends upon where you come from. As an American, I found Switzerland in general to be outrageously expensive and the habits of the society a bit strange. I never got used to be being in a major city (Zurich) and having to go the train station to buy butter or cream or something goofy on a Sunday. It is the only place open on Sunday (and after 4:00 on Saturdays) which takes some getting used to. The weather tends to be a bit dreary, so take your umbrella and take it with you always.
Lived there 3 years
