What to see in Zurich, Switzerland? |
Travel Info I'm going to be in Zurich on business for 2-3 days. Is there anything interesting I should see there? Travel Tips i like the shopping in Zurich, especially department stores like Manor, Coop City, Globus, Jelmoli - things that you don't see anywhere else in the world. sample the chocolate and luxemburgerli at Sprungli; the flagship at Paradeplatz has an attached cafe that is quite nice. try the bratwurst at Zeughauskeller. the Kunstmuseum (behind the Hauptbahnhof) is interesting. also the watch museum at the basement level of Beyer is really fascinating to see (even if you're not into watches/clocks). Fraumunster with its Marc Chagall stained glass is popular with the tourists. Lindenhof is a nice place to sit and just enjoy the atmosphere of the altstadt. i'd definite take the Polybahn (at Central stop) up to the viewing decks of the polytechnique school - great views all around, and the Polybahn is a neat funicular. take the train (i think S10) to Uetliberg, and you can "hike" the small mountain and get a panoramic view of the region all around. a good thing to buy is the Zurich Card - available in 24 or 72hrs - it gives you unlimited train/tram rides within Zurich city (includes airport to the city and Uetliberg) and also free admission to the museums. |
